Position DetailsRole: Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist (Hybrid)Status: Part-time Salary: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experienceSchedule: Flexible schedule based on hospital needs. Most schedules include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with either Tuesday or Thursday off. Weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts are shared among all hourly team members.

Cascade Pet Hospital is searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment. This hybrid role combines hands-on veterinary assistant responsibilities with reception coverage, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys both patient care and client interaction.

Previous veterinary assistant experience is required, but no worries if you've never worked reception before—we're happy to teach you that part. If you're adaptable, compassionate, and enjoy learning new skills, you'll fit right in.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced technology, including a Class IV K-Laser therapy laser, Sonoscape ultrasound, digital radiography, IDEXX in-house diagnostics, surgical and dental suites, and a fully stocked pharmacy. We practice gold-standard medicine using Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques while building lasting relationships with our clients and their pets.

What Our Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists Do

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and dental procedures
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, laboratory samples, and diagnostic imaging
  • Perform venipuncture, laboratory procedures, patient restraint, and nursing care
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and assist with treatments as directed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and communicate updates to the medical team
  • Cover the reception desk during lunch breaks and other staffing needs
  • Welcome clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in and check-out
  • Provide exceptional client service while helping maintain an efficient hospital workflow
  • Participate in caring for our clinic cat, Crouton, during scheduled weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts

What Our Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists Bring
