Full Time Cake Decorator Production Lead

Location:  Broadway Bakery

Reports to:  Assistant Facility Manager / Facility Manager

Classification:  Union Local 22 Bakery Manager

Rate of Pay:  $31.18 / hour

Hours:  Sunday – Saturday, mainly evenings between 12pm – 10pm

Individuals applying for this position should be willing to:

• Make lasting connections with our internal customers
• Decorate cakes using spatula icing, piping, fondant (maybe some air brushing) and create edible images
• Fill and rotate cases (may be some heavy lifting-up to 50lbs)
• Train and develop future bakery / facility employees
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary facility

• Is friendly and outgoing and promotes customer service for the entire team
• Has experience decorating cakes (2-3 years preferred)
• Knows about cakes, frostings, fillings, and the decorations to ensure a quality final product
• Understands seasonal selling and providing appropriate themes
• Attended Food Safety training
• Is motivated to grow their career and continue learning

Position functions and physical requirements may vary between locations. 

Frequent: 

Physical 

• lifting/carrying to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling over 50 force lbs. 

• walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting 

• repetitive motion: turning, bending 

Equipment Operation 

• bakery rack, shopping cart, decorating utensils, cleaning utensils 

Mental 

• judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math 

Occasional: 

Physical 

• lifting/carrying over 50 lbs. 

Environmental 

• extended exposure to varied temperatures and wet surfaces working close to heated surface 

FREQUENT:   15% of the work shift or at least ten repetitions per work shift. 

OCCASIONAL:  Approximately less than 15% of the work shift or fewer than 10 repetitions per work shift.
