About the role

We are very pleased to be offering a permanent full-time position for a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter focused on Management Liability Commercial within the BeLux Financial Lines team. You will be based in and work out of our Brussels office.

The role will predominantly involve:

• Responsibility for a portfolio of (medium and major) accounts and relationships within the Financial Lines department with focus on Management Liability Commercial (D&O, EPL, PTL and Crime).
• Actively participate in setting out the strategy for Management Liability Commercial with the aim of keeping a running a profitable portfolio in close collaboration with the Financial Lines Centre of excellence.
• Actively contribute to the budgeting and financial targets processes.
• Account retention and development through excellent service to key clients and brokers, monitoring and renewal of accounts at optimal conditions, cross-selling with other Financial Lines and AIG products.
• Efficiently handling of policy issuance and account management, including premium booking instructions, policy drafting and follow-up with the Servicing Teams.
• Committed to improve the visibility of the department through broker presentations, broker training and client meetings.
• Accountable – together with the team – for growth:
  • Analyzing risks, issuing quotes and underwriting the assigned risks in Management Liability Commercial with successful hit ratio for the realization of the attributed budget.
  • New product development. Drafting of new policies and updating of existing forms in collaboration with the team.
  • Adherence to compliance and underwriting guidelines and playing an exemplary role towards other team members.

What we’re looking for:

• Master degree in (Applied) Economics or Law or equivalent through experience
• Underwriting relevant experience of 5+ years in Financial Lines.
• service attitude and team spirit
• Analytical skills and data driven mindset
• Commitment to, and concern for service quality, performing ‘first time right’
• Courtesy, empathy and a helpful attitude dealing with external and internal clients
• Capable of fostering a positive and productive team ethos
• Stress resistant: able to work in a ‘busy environment’ while able to prioritize
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English
• Comfortable using standard IT applications (Windows, MS office, Outlook) and ability to quickly learn AIG specific systems/ underwriting tools
