Unit Description: The Infusion Nurse in Ambulatory Oncology provides chemotherapy and biologic therapies to adult patients with complex illness. Key aspects of this direct-care role include insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters; establishing access via utilizing implanted devices; administration of systemic chemotherapy and biotherapies; supporting the infusion patient who is participating in clinical trials; and comprehensive patient assessment and education.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred experience included- PIV insertion, maintenance and care. Central line access/de-access, PICC line care and dressing changes. Chemotherapy certification required but will train the right candidate and OCN certification preferred.
Greater than one year of nursing experience required; prior oncology experience a plus.
On-Call: Not required
