How you will help us create value together:

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Indirect Strategic Sourcing Department. This team provides support by vetting our supply base, introducing contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships for all non-production parts and services in accordance to quality, cost, and delivery requirements and to ensure continuous improvement of QDC to maximize output for our customers. 

This onsite position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District. The target start date for this role is Summer 2024 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2024 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities may include:

• Prepares supplier quote packages by gathering engineering drawings and specifications from various systems and distributes with direction from Category Managers. 
  • Prepares engineering drawings and quoting packages  
  • Performs analysis on RFQs.  Develops bid analysis summaries.
  • Extracts estimated annual usage and previous purchase price for cost impact analysis.
  • Supports suppliers with issues opening protected drawings
• Follow-up with suppliers on aging quotes 
• Assist with identification, evaluation, and support for the development of sources of supply and commodity plans for OE and Aftermarket in accordance with SLQCD principals as assigned 
• Drives, supports, and provides reporting and analytics for continuous improvement and supplier development and management in coordination with the Category Managers and New Product Development – Cost Optimization Project Managers to leverage spend and cost reductions. 

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Operation, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering (Or other data focused majors), or similar, from an accredited college or university
• Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or master’s level student in good academic standing
