Division Information
The Role
PACCAR is looking for a curious, creative, and motivated individual that is passionate about cybersecurity and interested in learning more about cybersecurity operations in a Fortune 500 company. During your internship with PACCAR, you'll have the opportunity to explore new technologies, work with technical teams, and lead projects. Our internship program is designed to give you real world experience and develop skills to succeed within the technology and cybersecurity industry.
About the Team
As a Security Operations Intern, you will work with the North America Security Operations team. SecOps is a critical team within PACCAR that has responsibility for the design, implementation, and management of all security systems along with incident response and monitoring.
Job Responsibilities & Projects
- Learn about cloud technologies, securing cloud environments, and compliance
- Assist with new or existing security related projects
- Assist with threat investigations and end-point protection
- Review and update security standards documents
- Work with Information Security team to learn about risk assessment and investigations
- Work with Identity and Access Management team
Required Experience
- 1+ years of college or hands-on IT technical experience, preferably in the IT or Information Security Field
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask within a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with information security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2 or TISAX
- Familiarity with secure coding principles and the OWASP Top 10
- Familiarity in the usage of Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) tools such as OWASP ZAP and Burp Suite
- PowerShell or Python scripting is desired
- Data Reporting experience is desired
- Tableau and/or Sumo Logic experience is a plus
- Communication Skills - Good verbal and written communication skills to document findings and report on security assessments.
- Attention to Detail - Keen eye for detail to identify potential security issues.
- Passion for Cybersecurity - Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through coursework, personal projects, or participation in cybersecurity competitions (e.g., CTFs)
- Willingness to Learn - Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in cybersecurity
- Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to think critically and solve problems independently and as part of a team.
Education
- Currently pursuing bachelor's degree with a Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
