RESPEC is seeking a Student Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our full-service engineering team in our Anchorage, AK location. We design innovative world-class projects utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.

This is a hands-on design position with the Facilities Market Sector. Primary role will include supporting new construction and renovations in collaboration with architects, civil, structural, electrical, and fire protection engineers. Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides broad support to the RESPEC Alaska-based engineering team
• Conducts field work, and collects data on existing conditions
• Assists staff with engineering calculations and reports
• Assists team in developing design documents
• Conducts support functions as needed, such as data entry and file management

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Enrolled in an accredited school or college and studying toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical engineering or related field. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
• Strong written and oral communication skills and strong research and analytical skills
• Motivated and positive self-starter able to work independently and in a team
• Flexibility and desire to gain experience on a wide variety of projects
• US work authorization is required

Work Schedule:  During the summer months; 40 hours/week.  Work during the school year may be possible by mutual agreement.

Additional Information

Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience, plus statutory insurance requirements.
