Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Payroll Coordinator – Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities include:
- Investigate and promptly respond to complex employee inquiries regarding wages, taxes and deductions.
- Analyze and audit payroll data to find and resolve any discrepancies.
- Enter and monitor withholding orders, audit biweekly file of all withholding orders.
- Prepare and calculate deceased employee payouts including creating supplier per W9.
- Monitor direct deposit returns and communicate to affected employees.
- Calculate wage overpayments and enter repayments.
- Monitor and complete payroll related Workday tasks including but not limited to terminations, AR balances and data changes.
- Update payroll deductions as needed and requested by various departments, including mass load of payroll deductions through an EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder).
- Prepare payroll documents and payroll entries as needed for abandoned property.
- Perform accounting related tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliation and biweekly vendor payments.
- Prepare and export Workday reports into Excel for audit purposes.
- Update taxation (OASDI & Medicare) for students and OPS employees.
- Review and complete Workday tasks for Form W4, communicate with non-resident aliens to confirm visa status.
- Prepare and review biweekly salary audit.
- Prepare and review biweekly FICA report and confirm exemptions.
- Prepare and review biweekly report pertaining to retirement annual and fiscal year limits.
- Other ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as assigned .
