Job Summary:

Creates Information Technology (IT) business solutions by designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining internet/intranet applications, serving as one of the technical leaders on a team of developers. Manages complex projects which typically involve multiple developers, users, and support staff. Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives. Provides technical expertise to junior developers.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
• Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
• Five years' software development experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:

• Defines application objectives by analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality. Completes application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; troubleshoots development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. Utilizes established standards for systems design, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation. Completes programming using optimal languages and software products. Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle.
• Manages complex projects which typically involve multiple developers, users, and support staff. Designs and conducts software tests. Assists the education/documentation team with development of end user documentation, training material and assistance tools. Installs applications following standard, best-practice procedures to minimize or avoid downtime and ensure optimal application stability and reliability. Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting, studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
• Functions as a technical leader to develop and maintain software in a product team environment. Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
• Supports users by providing third-level (technical) support. Maintains service level agreements with various end-user departments and enterprise business units.
• Supports and mentors web application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities. Determines design methodologies and tool sets.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
