Allrecipes, the number one food site on the internet, is looking for a digital Staff Writer to report on food news & trends. In this role, you will pitch ideas, report stories, and occasionally update existing stories as they develop and/or become newsworthy.
 

About The Positions Contributions:

Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

• 50%:  Pitching and writing 3-5 daily news and trend stories about the consumer travel space

• 20%:  Make sure stories are optimized with catchy headlines and strong ledes 

• 20%:  Find and interview food industry experts for stories that require additional reporting

• 10%:  Monitor for breaking news and be ready to report them in real-time

 

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Experience:

• 3+ years writing experience at an online publisher, preferably in the food space

• CMS experience required

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

• Personal interest in the food and recipes space

• Detail-oriented and deadline-focused

• A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordingly

• Familiarity with SEO best practices

• Proficiency in project management tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar

% Travel Required (Approximate):  5%

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $65,000.00 - $78,000.00 Remote US: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees.
