Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Technology M&A Leader will be responsible for partnering with the Mergers and Acquisition organization in evaluating and executing on M&A opportunities. This role is accountable for the technology program management, technical execution, and integration of all M&A deals for the company. This role also is responsible for coordinating the technology evaluation and due diligence on all corporate acquisition opportunities. The individual in this role will need to be deeply familiar with M&A technology integrations, standards, and processes that meet the Technology & Operations organization requirements. They will perform an evaluation of the current process (due diligence & execution) and make continuous improvements to streamline a consistent and repeatable standard.

It will be essential that this leader has strong influencing skills, prior experience managing people and complex programs as well as a collaborative approach to building relationships in a cross-functional team environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the M&A organization to align cross functional technology support for due diligence as well as execution of integrations

  • Lead technology assessments for potential M&A opportunities, evaluating alignment with technology and product strategy, assessing infrastructure, scalability, security, and integration feasibility

  • Coordinate overall technology execution of M&A integrations with Synchrony

  • Provide strategic guidance on technology risks, synergies, and post-merger integration strategies

  • Setup and oversee overall Technology M&A governance framework to ensure standardized processes, compliance, and effective decision-making across transactions

  • Bring experience across end user services, infrastructure/cloud, security, and collaboration technologies

  • Partner with the Office of Agile, Engineering and CIO organizations to lead efforts around agile efficiency

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including InfoSec, to address technology risks, manage technical debt, and ensure secure integration practices

  • Hands-on experience working with scaled-Agile product teams, functional teams and technology teams

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing our teams is a core responsibility

  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging new ideas and creative solutions across teams

  • Define and operationalize technology roadmaps and strategies to guide integration planning, execution, and long-term value realization

  • Build and align people, processes, and technology to drive scalable, sustainable, and efficient integration outcomes

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9+ years of work experience, ideally in financial services OR, in lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 12+ years of relevant work experience

  • Minimum of 7 years technology integration and end user services experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of M&A and/or strategic planning experience

  • Strong operational, get-it-done attitude with a startup mentality

  • Results driven, customer-centric, strategic, conceptual, and innovative thinker

  • Demonstrated experiencing resolving issues and bringing solutions to bear within a fast-paced business environment

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to connect with others, building strong partnerships and driving enthusiasm internally and externally

  • Expertise to clearly define complex issues despite incomplete or ambiguous information

  • Ability to drive multiple concurrent priorities to completion without significant guidance

  • Demonstrated a process mindset to drive improvement
