Principal System Administrators, internally known as Principal Analyst, Information Workplace Services, collaborate with many teams to support continuously evolving network infrastructures. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across the Networked Security System. To ensure IS stability and promote growth, redundancy and resilience.
What You Will Do:
Utilize your knowledge and skills regarding System & Service integration to include, but not limited to, authentication protocols, patch management, network segregation, and vulnerability management.
Use multiple operating systems and hardware platforms to include OT (Operational Technology).
Work with the Cyber & Compliance Teams to maintain RTX standards and DFARS requirements which include assessments, implementation steps, and ensuring the integrity of the security authorization package.
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
Will manage and allocate private IP space for a segregated network and corporate IPs from another IT team for firewall connections on the corporate network.
Will set up VPNs on SonicWall devices between sites as needed for Technical Security and to support the IT Infrastructure Management Systems on this network.
Will image new workstations and join them to the private networks Active Directory (AD).
Will manage Active Directory (AD) by sites for user accounts, access groups, servers, workstations, and service accounts.
AD access groups are set up for the administration of Servers and Workstations, then these are added to the servers and workstations as needed.
Will delegate Admin rights over Organization Units (OUs) to local Technical Security personnel as approved.
Will manage the Syslog server on the network and make sure new firewalls have been added to log collections. Also review the logs for problems and anomalies.
Will manage Microsoft Configuration Manager and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) to patch and maintain servers and workstations on the network.
Will manage Antivirus clients on the network for all Windows based servers and workstations and make sure they are getting updates.
Will manage a Microsoft Key server to provide Microsoft Windows and application licenses to member systems.
Will manage a Microsoft Certificate server so systems can use certificate-based encryption between each other to meet customer encryption requirements.
Will manage a Skype server on the network so network users can chat and/or share application screens with security admins to assist with problems.
Will manage network monitoring systems to track and notify of network, server or security system problems.
Will manage data to include the model, and version, of the equipment hardware and software to include end of life for planning upgrades and refreshing.
Will assist with new sites coming onto the network as needed to help procure DT and security hardware and software.
Will assist in troubleshooting the network, security systems, and CCTV systems as needed even if the repair may be directed to other organizations or contractors.
5% travel and must be willing and available to travel to other sites as dictated by business need.
