50 miles south of Chicago and close to the Indiana boarder, Grant Park is a village in northeastern Kankakee County, Illinois. Grant Park was incorporated in 1883. In 2010, Grant Park had a population of 1,331. It is part of the Kankakee–Bradley Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The plant was built in 1960's, Warehouse and Office areas added in 1988, and has approximately 150 employees.

Responsibilities
Job Description:
- Effectively provides engineering and maintenance leadership and daily management to support the plant’s continuous 24/7 operations required to safely satisfy customer demand with quality products at budgeted cost.
- Responsible for hiring, salary administration, employee development, and performance management, including disciplinary actions, for the plant’s engineering and maintenance department employees. Direct report salary resouces include a maintenance manager, process engineers, and technicians.
- Effectively utilizes the plant’s maintenance, facility, and engineering salary and hourly resources to partner with production to continuously improve all aspects of plant operations, including safety, quality, food safety, schedule compliance, productivity, cost, and employee welfare/morale.
- Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the plant’s facilities, critical utilities, and production related equipement, including product tooling.
- Responsible for effectively managing the maintenance department labor, maintenance materials, facilities, engineering, environmental, and utility budgets.
- Responsible to work with corporate EHS, quality, engineering, maintenance, continuous improvement, and new product development resources as required to support timely and effective completion of plant and corporate improvement initiatives.
- Identifies, scopes, submits for corporate sanctioning & approval, and then effectively manages capital projects within budget to maintain and/or improve plant facilities, critical utilities, and production related equipment, including product tooling.
- Responsible to provide engineering and maintenance support to ensure the plant’s 24/7 compliance to applicable corporate EHS, OSHA, and environmental regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS Engineering degree preferred
- 5+ years in manufacturing engineering field is required, preferably process manufacturing, with demonstrated process, maintenance, and project management skills with at least 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Must be details and results oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities and challenges through a pragmatic, timely, and cost effective lens.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and rapidly execute engineering and maintenance related fixes and longer term improvements to new and recurring issues.
- Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
- Demonstrated experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred
