Job Description:

The role is part of the Downstream Power Finance organization and provides financial leadership across valuation, structuring, tax, treasury, accounting, credit and market risk. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enabling the newly formed Power organization to deliver reliable, lowest cost power, in line with Power strategy including Offshore Wind, Onshore Wind, Solar PV, and BESS. The Senior Finance Advisor reports into the Finance Manager Power Generation and is part of a global pool across the US, NL and UK.

What’s the role

The Power Generation business area encompasses Global Renewable generation assets, Valuation, JV Excellence, Portfolio, Business Opportunity, on- & offshore Asset Management, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships. The global pool will support delivery of improved competitive portfolio performance and aid in portfolio and capital restructuring, partnering and innovative energy solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead in ensuring value and risks is made transparent and understood in both decision making and performance management

  • Provide Finance expertise to assets within the Power Generation portfolio to deliver the strategy and evolve the business to meet future needs, ensuring top quartile outcomes

  • Support broader team to deliver a capital lite business encompassing capital recycling models and project financing (PF) requirements

  • Support high grading the portfolio through various commercial activities, ensuring project teams maintain credible and achievable base case assumptions

  • Influence project outcome by ensuring value and risks are made transparent

  • Liaise with the several stakeholders across Power and Shell Energy and bridge the gap between finance and the rest of the business

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience, ideally within the power or renewable energy sectors in either a banking setting or in a project developer

  • Proficient and experienced in working in Excel with discounted cash flow valuation, risk modelling, and impact on accounts

  • Some travel is required, typically less than 15%

  • Strong presentation creation and delivery skills

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders, internally and externally

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects

  • Continuous Improvement mindset essential

What we offer

The base salary range for this position is $146,000.00 - $218,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
