We are seeking candidates for the position of Senior Director Of Maintenance (7279) - VOH in the REE&M/Administration.

Salary Range: Min: $121,498.00 - Mid: $151,866.00 - Max: $182,234.00 

 

Limited telework may be permitted for this position in accordance with SEPTA Policy.

 

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Directs and coordinates the Vehicle Overhaul programs and related activities at several SEPTA maintenance locations and outside contractors to achieve optimum use of facilities, vehicles and manpower in providing safe, highly reliable, dependable and efficient maintenance services while adhering to the annual VOH budget, timeline and constraints.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops key metrics / KPI’s to determine efficacy of the vehicle overhaul programs.
• Modifies the VOH program based on KPI results to achieve highest possible reliability of rail cars.
• Follows up on warranty and contract administration with outside contractors.
• Determines adequacy of manpower and employee training to ensure the excellent performance of all rail fleets.
• Ensures that employees are dealt with fairly and equitably in compliance with labor agreements and Authority policy.
• Prepares data for development of maintenance budget and monitor and control budget expenditures.
• Interprets Authority policy and administrative directives and establish maintenance rules and procedures to implement them.
• Responsible for fulfilling the Authority's mission statement of safety, service and continuous improvement by providing high quality transit service and for exceeding service goals.
• Ensures compliance with all pertinent ADA regulations and rules and stay abreast of all regulatory and rule changes.
• Monitors daily activities and the performance of various overhaul activities. Provide leadership and direction to subordinates to correct and improve problem areas and meet established goals.
• Enforces safety regulations and implement safety programs.
• Ensures all resources (parts, labor, training, special tools) are available to run an effective VOH Program.
• Develops comprehensive quality management plan for all activities related to the VOH program.
• Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is expected to promote the safety of others. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.
