About the role

Sartorius is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer for our BioAnalytics division based remotely in the Bay area, CA. In this role you will be supporting complex cell analysis equipment in our current portfolio while partnering with our customers to build and maintain world class customer satisfaction, customer retention and drive success.

The ideal candidate must reside in the Bay area, CA area.

​What you will accomplish together with us:

  • You will provide exceptional customer care and build positive relationships with customers 
  • In the event of an issue, you will provide technical support to customers 
  • One of your responsibilities will be to tie workflow to schedule to minimize unnecessary travel and travel to customers by ground, train, and air transportation as needed 
  • You will provide training to customers on the essential use and operation of Bio Analytics instruments 
  • You will perform field service, calibration, and installation of complex mechanical systems and perform preventative maintenance and field sterilizations  
  • One of your tasks will be to assist with resolving IT issues related to Bio Analytics system installations. Follow all company's procedures and protocols, as well as perform software updates/upgrades  
  • You will assist in drafting documentation of process and procedure as required 
  • Keep accurate records via written and paper form, keep an accurate count of parts assigned to the engineer 
  • On a regular basis, you will be asked to produce timely, accurate, and detailed service reports and prepare customer-facing estimates of repairs 
  • Pass along identified leads to the sales manager 
  • Travel to our Ann Arbor, MI, Albuquerque, NM, Fremont, CA, and additional facilities and sites for training and conferences as needed 
  • All other duties as assigned by management

What will convince us:

  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, biomechanical engineering, biomedical engineering preferred
  • You have completed an Associate degree in Engineering or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent combination of 5+ years industry experience and/or technical/military training
  • You possess the ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment with excellent mechanical, electrical, and IT skills 
  • You have demonstrated a strong aptitude for hands-on engineering testing and experimentation in a lab/shop environment 
  • You possess good working knowledge of ISO requirements and other relevant guidelines and regulations 
  • You are proficient with MS Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • You have a valid Drivers License with an excellent driving record

  • You have the ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules 
  • Expect up to 25% overnight travel to support Field Service activities
  • Lift items that weigh up to 35 Kg 
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications 
  • Excellent driving record

Base salary offered for the position in CA is $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 depending on experience. Plus, bonus and car allowance
