The School Psychologist is responsible for planning, conducting, and interpreting psycho-educational assessments, counseling, determining behavioral and educational strategies for assigned students; and for providing ongoing communication and consultation to program staff, parents, other clinicians and outside agencies.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Plan and administer appropriate psycho-educational and other testing procedures.
- Prepare written reports and communicate/interpret results of evaluations/assessments.
- Prepare written reports on students' academic and behavioral progress, and prepare IEP goals and objectives.
- Organize, plan and provide counseling and other intervention strategies to students on an individual and/or group basis.
- Collaborate with staff in designing, monitoring and implementing behavioral management techniques and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with staff in developing and/or implementing student crisis intervention plans.
- Provide ongoing communication to LEA and other agency contact persons, to other clinicians, and to parents.
- Provide staff training activities in areas of specialization as assigned by program administrators.
- The Student Support Services Administration may attach additional appropriate responsibilities unique to a particular program's need.
- Experience in providing assessment and direct services to scholars with various diagnoses and educational needs.
