JOB SUMMARY
The Flight Maintenance Manager is responsible for the operation and supervision of the Certified Repair Station and Flight Maintenance Department. This position ensures that the University’s aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition. This position is also responsible for the investigation to determine cause of discrepancies found in the quality of workmanship, procedures, materials, and any abnormal deficiencies found in aircraft maintained by the repair station.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides adequate training, equipment, materials, and competent personnel pertinent to the operations of the repair station
Determines the need for initial and recurrent training of personnel consistent with the work to be performed
Maintains and keeps a current file of required regulatory data
Maintains and keep current the required technical data on all aircraft, engines, propellers, and appliances for the maintenance performed or to be performed; includes manufacturer's maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specification, related FAA approved data, and any other technical data used by the repair station
Maintains and revises the repair station manuals, personnel rosters, and employment summaries
Makes application for changes to the repair stations operation specifications
Contracts maintenance functions to non-certificated facilities
Submits reports in a format acceptable to the FAA within 96 hours after discovery of any serious failure, malfunction, or defect of an article
Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Flight Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in Airframe & Power-plant (A&P) Mechanics
Seven years of experience in mechanical repair shop
Previous supervisory and/or management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in business administration, management or aviation
Salary/Benefits:
$82,240-102,800 (salary commensurate with experience) plus benefits including vacation and sick leave, health/dental/vision/life insurance, 403B retirement savings plan and match, tuition remission, employee assistance program, and wellness program.
