Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.

Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

Performs inbound scheduling of transportation, storage, and gathering transactions on transmission and gathering systems. Supports outbound scheduling on third party pipelines, including nominations, capacity release transactions, and payment of exchange deals. Interacts with key energy customers and ensures resolution of any identified issues. Span of control: 0; this is an individual contributor job.

Key Accountabilities

  • Processes inbound nominations on transmission and gathering systems, including reconciling imbalances with third party pipelines and/or producers
  • Works with gas nomination system to support system functionality for internal and external users, including troubleshooting system problems and coordinating enhancements
  • Submits outbound nominations on third party pipelines, including developing and implementing scheduling plans and ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance
  • Acts as contact for gas transportation programs with regulatory and third-party audit personnel
  • Supports cross-functional natural gas projects to develop new or enhanced processes

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline and 3 years of natural gas industry experience in an operational, finance, marketing, or related capacity

  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills; communicates clearly, with credibility and confidence
  • Broad understanding of gas transmission pipelines and storage capacity planning
  • Ability to work on a rotational shift schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work with shifting priorities and embrace new/evolving responsibilities; organizes and prioritizes routine assignments with minimal oversight
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, positively interacting with cross-functional areas
  • Ability to conduct effective and efficient meetings with optimal results
  • Ability to initiate new ideas and approaches; challenges prevailing practices and approaches with reasonably sound alternatives
