Job Summary:

Under the general guidance of the Program Manager for the Statewide Placement Administrator, the Welcome Center Supervisor leads a team responsible for the short-term, in -person care of children 0-17 and young adults 18-20 awaiting initial or transitional placement with an out-of-home caregiver.

Job Duties:

Provides both individual and group supervision, observation, coaching, feedback, and consultation to team responsible for the on-site coordination of care and case management of children and young adults that transition through the Welcome Center awaiting a match with an out-of-home caregiver.

Ensures a high standard of care for all children and young adults serve through the Welcome Center; fosters skill building, as well as professional growth and development of team members; manages scheduling and coverage to ensure 24/7 service delivery.
Serves as a representative of the Placement Administration and Welcome Center at meetings, Team Decision Making (TDMs), Child and Family Team meetings (CFTs) and on work groups.

Works with peer-supervisors to calibrate the Welcome Center standard-of-care across all units; attends, participates in, and/or facilitates unit, section and other program meetings; maintains an updated standard work processes and position standard work for the Welcome Center.

Tracks, monitors, and shares data related to unit outcomes and service delivery; communicates and/or takes needed actions to address opportunities for improvement within the Welcome Center.

Establishes and maintains relationships with regional colleagues and other relevant partners to obtain feedback regarding the strengths and opportunities of the service provided by the Welcome Center.

- State and department policies, procedures and standards related to child protection
- Impacts of adverse childhood experiences (ACES), and techniques needed to support and care for individuals that have experienced ACES

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Master's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND one year (1) of DCS Program Specialist experience.
OR
Four (4) years of combined DCS Specialist Trainee/DCS Specialist/ Investigator Sr./Assistant Manager experience.
OR
Three (3) years of combined DCS Specialist Trainee/DCS Specialist/Investigator Sr./ Assistant Manager experience  AND One (1) year of professional-level supervisory experience.
