While reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for scheduling orders and planning production jobs for the assigned equipment. You will also be responsible for scheduling jobs to minimize changeover and downtime, to include routine preventive maintenance, and to meet customer demands.  You may handle customer service responsibilities, working directly with the customer to satisfy production requirements and procurement duties, working directly with suppliers to purchase materials and supplies

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing production schedules to meet finished goods requirements while minimizing changeovers, downtime, and inventory.
  • Planning raw material requirements using MRP or other electronic systems as appropriate.
  • Planning, scheduling, and procuring materials for manufacturing of product. Reviewing production schedules for changes.  Expediting supplier deliveries as required. Generating production work orders as needed.
  • Supporting the development, application, production trials, and introduction of new materials and processes.  Working with suppliers and internal departments to achieve this objective.
  • Working with plant management and suppliers to resolve quickly all customer quality and service issues. Implementing required remedial measures.
  • Accountable for the identification, disposition, and necessary follow-up of slow moving, aged, and/or surplus inventories.
  • May provide training to others on an as needed basis.
  • Assist the warehouse supervisor with inventory status of finished goods and packaging materials. Including assistance with annual physical inventory.
  • Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
  • Review and update the monthly Supply Chain scorecard.
  • Provides MFG/PRO assistance to other plant personnel
  • Handling purchasing and customer service responsibilities as needed.
  • Knowledge of Oracle forecasting, planning, production scheduling and shipping functionality and processes desired.

This position is located in Stockton, CA.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance
  • You have 6 months- 2 years pertinent experience

  • Reasoning Ability:  Effective problems solving skills; Prioritize own workload
  • Computer Skills:  Proficient in the use of computers, spreadsheets, data base programs and ERP systems; Knowledgeable/experience using purchasing and retail information systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Other:  APICS participation preferred; Some negotiation and organizational skills and ability to interact with all levels of management; Strong communication skills both oral and written; Must be familiar with ISO requirements; P
