About our group:
We are hiring in the Equipment Engineering and Services department within the Recording Heads Operations at Seagate Technology, Inc. in Bloomington, MN. We are looking for skilled Engineering Technicians on multiple shifts. In this position, you will work on maintenance related activities on equipment in our Wafer Fab Cleanroom and actively interact cross-functionally with Process, RD, and Manufacturing departments. We are a team-oriented organization with a priority to enhance technician skills at all levels in the department.
About the role - you will:
- Troubleshoot and repair of vacuum equipment in Wafer fabrication
- Develop, document, and train others on new improved methods and techniques used in complex repairs
- Work with your expert knowledge of electronic circuits, PLC’s, and Robotics.
- Be determining both major and sub-component failures including the modification of components and / or schematics in highly complex equipment
- Analyze PM procedures, make recommendations to improve efficiency, and train others on the new procedures
- Work closely with Equipment and Process Engineering on continuous improvement projects including equipment upgrades, systemic tool issues, etc.
- Communicate with Equipment Engineers and Equipment Vendors
- Administer training programs to ensure proper equipment operation, preventive maintenance, repair programs and procedures
- Demonstrate high level of leadership and commitment to customer success
- Share your skill and knowledge with others through training, leadership, and process improvements
- Expect to provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel during PM’s as well as complex equipment repairs

Your experience includes:
- Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent Military Experience / Training preferred.
- 10+ years Semiconductor equipment repair experience at a field service engineering level preferred
- Demonstrated successful high-level troubleshooting and repair experience with vacuum systems (PVD, IBE, Etch), including Brooks handling robots.
- Experience with MS Office
- Preferred Software and Hardware experience
