Location: Cherokee Internal Medicine (GA)Position: Medical Assistant (MA)Job Type: Full-time Salary: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week

We are looking for a new team player who:
- has experience in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- works well in a fast pace environment
- has a current medical assisting certification (cannot be expired)
- is interest in learning new skills and growing with our company
Medical Assistant duties may include but are not limited to:
- Perform tests such as EKGs, Ear Lavages, Spirometry, Audiometry Screening, Visual Acuity Screening
- Prepare and administer injections/immunizations
- Chart preparing/ medical records
- Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history in EMR, and confirming the purpose of visit.
- Accurately obtain manual vital signs
- Provide patient education and act as professional liaison between the providers and patients
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Maintain patient’s medical records in compliance with HIPAA
- Enter physician’s order for tests, procedures, imaging into the computer
- Answer patient calls and triage concerns accordingly
- Insurance referrals, Prior Authorizations
- Perform patient callbacks, arrange referrals and testing
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Check patients in and out for appointments
Medical Assistant Qualifications/Skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
- Patient-centered
- Obtain manual vital signs
- Ability to be a team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- EMR experience, preferably eClinicalWorks
- Strong computer skills
- Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Customer Service Skills, Displays a professional outgoing warm, empathetic, and helpful attitude
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Certification in Medical Assisting
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certification in Medical Assisting (Required)
