The Senior Manager, Engineering will lead and provide leadership and strategy development for successful capital planning, portfolio development, and project implementation of annual capital plan of $150 million to $200 million per year for the North America region, our largest region at McCain. You will support all manufacturing plants in the region (15) through the full lifecycle of engineering practices in support of these initiatives and strategies from evaluation through execution. Leading a team of engineers, this person will also be responsible for facilitating global/local knowledge transfer and sharing within their team and across engineering for skill building, mentoring and talent management.
Specifically, the Senior Manager role encompasses the following areas of responsibility:
- Work with assigned manufacturing plants for the development of annual and 5 year project portfolio
- Oversee project engineering and project managers for assigned plants to assure successful implementation of assigned project work
- Assure McCain Engineering best practices, technical standards and specifications and project management methodologies are used
- Forward improvement recommendation for standards, specification, and management approach as appropriate
- Project Design, Contracting, And Construction Management
- Project Development And Capital Budget Proposals
- Evaluate, Contract, And Manage Consulting Engineers
- Engineering Personnel Development And Consultation
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Lead and provide sapient leadership within the Technical and Engineering disciplines within McCain operations. Influence key decision makers, operations, manufacturing, technical services, quality and supply chain personnel in plants via providing policy direction and guidance.
- Interface with Finance and Risk Management relative to the Capital Plan, cash flow associated with capital projects, and overall spend relative to engineering projects Define, leverage and coordinate the execution of the Operations Technical and Network Strategy.
- Coordinate knowledge management and Global/local knowledge transfer and sharing. Transfer best practices for capital project execution and capital management, and overall project management practices
- Codify Engineering standards and practices and be the custodian for these across the value chain on issues such as preferred equipment manufacturers and suppliers, contractor standards, and coordination with Procurement on lowest Total Cost of Ownership for equipment and capital projects.
- Facilitate skill building support, mentoring and talent management across the technical and engineering disciplines
- Design, Operation, Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for food plant engineering operations
- Development and Use of Best Practices for engineering and project management
- Support Development of Basis Of Design (BOD) Documentation And Functional Description
- Develop Capital Budget Proposals For Evaluation As A Capital Appropriation including:
- Engage Consulting Engineers and OEMs for Assistance
- Evaluate, Develop, And Mentor Facility Personnel in Engineering and Maintenance
- Knowledge and experience with capital management
- Proven skills in Operations Division core competencies (Analytical/Problem Solving, Results Driven, Innovative, Team Player/Interpersonal Skills, Intellect, Resilient/Flexible/Adaptable, Leadership Skills)
- Strategic leadership and thought leadership capability.
- Project management skills and methodologies.
This position will be accountable for:

You will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; Master of Business Administration or Master of Science in Engineering desirable
- The ability to travel 30-50% throughout the US and Canada
- A minimum of 10+ years of engineering experience in the Food and Beverage products manufa
