Job Overview:
Albertus Magnus College seeks a dynamic and motivated fundraising professional whose primary objective is to increase giving and broaden its circle of supporters. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Advancement, the Leadership Giving Officer (LGO) will work collaboratively with the Advancement team and across departments to create customized strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors and prospects. The LGO will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the College’s first comprehensive campaign coinciding with its historic Centennial.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary manager for a portfolio of up to 130 current and prospective donors.
  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward their annual giving and encourage additional program, capital, endowment, and legacy investments to help build the College’s major gift pipeline.
  • Effectively and efficiently close gifts at The President’s Associates level ($1,925) and above.
  • Travel to visit current and prospective donors and other key constituents, meeting metrics that include a minimum of 100-125 personal visits per year.
  • Execute a systematic approach to qualifying new donors to determine their interest in and capacity for support, and link them to established fundraising priorities.
  • Write compelling donor correspondence, contact reports, and proposals, and provide updates and briefings on individual donors and program status. Keep detailed records of strategies, steps, and progress of portfolio relationships using Slate CRM.
  • Work closely with the Vice President for Advancement to update moves management and solicitation amounts for their donor portfolio.
  • Partner with the Director of Advancement Operations to facilitate appropriate acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship of gift commitments.
  • Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to engage alumni and donors, assist in organizing and implementing special projects, and participate in affinity group development and/or engagement events.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Albertus and individual departments’ missions and needs as they pertain to fundraising priorities. Actively engage with the campus community to deepen understanding of campus culture and next phase opportunities.
  • Represent the Office of Advancement at both internal and external campus events as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of face-to-face fundraising/development experience required. Prior experience working with comprehensive campaigns, ideally in a college or university setting, is preferred.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
