As a Production Maintenance Technician IV at Pfizer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping all production and packaging machinery up and running, conducting preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, and performing specification checks. You will interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications, determining the sequence of operations and method of setup, as well as assessing the requirements for materials, parts, and equipment. Your breadth of knowledge and prior work experience will enable you to adapt standard methods and procedures, identify required delivery and process improvements, and drive increased efficiency, throughput, and quality. In this role, you will perform maintenance, repair, complex troubleshooting, redesign, and enhancement of mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems. You will develop maintenance, PM, and calibration procedures, and serve as a leader and technical resource for technicians at various levels. You will be responsible for the operation of production equipment, performing routine and preventative maintenance, changeovers, adjustments, and repairs for both production and facility equipment

  • Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting: This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing machine breakdowns promptly and skillfully, minimizing machine downtime, and performing preventive maintenance and calibration of production and facility equipment without supervision.

  • Technical Instruction and Supervision: This involves instructing other technicians and machine/process operators in the intricacies of assigned machinery and equipment, providing supervision to lower-level technicians, and training other technicians in areas of specialization.

  • Performance Improvement and Recommendations: Demonstrating the ability to make useful recommendations regarding improved machine performance, analyzing equipment efficiency, developing design enhancements, and generating and implementing ECR and CSCR modifications.

  • Installation and Coordination: Coordinating installation activities of new equipment with production and maintenance personnel, developing troubleshooting, training, and use documentation, and integrating project implementation with production personnel and management.

  • Documentation and Communication: Following oral and written instructions, dealing effectively with all levels of employees, and maintaining appropriate documentation such as preventive maintenance, calibration procedures, logbook entries, and work orders.

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrating proficiency in areas such as AC/DC electrical theory, principles of HVAC and refrigeration, electrical power distribution equipment, mechanical components, fluid power components, and mathematical calculations related to problem-solving and troubleshooting.

  • Self-Management and Development: Managing own time and professional development, being accountable for own results, prioritizing workflow, and assisting in prioritizing the workflow of less-experienced colleagues.

  • Safety and Compliance: Applying safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) knowledge in daily operations, following SOPs, cGMPs, batch records, and BOMs, and ensuring environmental excursions are kept to an acceptable level.

  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Having accomplished knowledge in areas such as electrical control systems, electronic control systems, pneumatic control systems, calibration systems, HVAC/refrigeration systems, welding, machining systems, electro-mechanical systems, fluid systems, computer systems, or PLCs.

  • Operational Efficiency and Support: Minimizing production line downtime, maximizing efficiencies, supporting shutdowns, coordinating with other departments for smooth production operations, and providing recommendations and plans of action for equipment repair.

  • Root Cause Analysis and Problem Resolution: Sharing responsibility for root cause analysis to eliminate repeat performance issues, analyzing equipment/line problems, and implementing resolutions.

  • Aseptic Techniques and Process Operations: Understanding all aspects of the washing, filling, component sterilization process, operating in Grade A, B, C, D environments, performing necessary machine setup, operation, changeover, adjustment, diagnosis, repair, and preventative mainte
