We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance operations, data analysis, and financial reporting. You will work closely with our finance team to support daily tasks, participate in audits, and help streamline critical financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sales, accounts payable (AP), and inventory data entry into financial systems.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and troubleshoot outstanding reconciliation issues.
- Review and validate inventory reports, ensuring accurate categorization and elimination of duplicate entries.
- Support audit processes, including the Lenz Audit and Risk Assessment data updates.
- Analyze and verify financial reports such as:
- Meal Pass and Catering Rollups
- Tier 2 Spend Tracking
- Forecast Rollups
- MyFi entries and P&L verifications
- Assist in separating and analyzing retail vs. non-retail sales data across units.
- Review journal entries (JE) to eliminate duplicate postings between manual and system entries.
- Collaborate with operational teams to update population figures and insurance charge listings.
- Help prepare materials and insights for Post-Close Reviews and Monthly Financial Reviews (WebEx sessions).
- Track daily counts for athletic meal services and maintain records in Teams.
- Identify and isolate common regional expenses for ledger accuracy.
- Support ongoing financial projects and participate in training and WebEx sessions led by senior team members.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with financial systems (prior exposure to SAP, POS reporting tools, or similar systems is a plus).
- Enthusiasm to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
