Job Description

The Instructional Support Coordinator provides instructor and logistical support for non-credit courses and trainings offered by the Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) Department as determined by the Customized Training Representatives and Director.

The person in this position is responsible for procurement and payroll activities related to instructor and vendor service agreements and contracts necessary for the department to offer continuing education and customized training courses. This includes ordering office supplies, educational materials and supplies, coordinating other instructional needs for all courses, providing direct instructor support, course file maintenance, and coordination of nursing assistant testing events.

The person in this position provides operational support for the CEWD department including assistance with coordination of department marketing activities and course catalog production and distribution. This person also assists the CEWD Registration Specialist as needed by providing front desk customer support and providing registration assistance to CEWD students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in effective communication for navigating multi-line phone systems, typing and editing documents, explaining procedures, and serving as a resource for students, instructors, colleagues, and various vendors.

  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft 365 and experience in using other software programs to enter data, draft contracts and format email and other correspondence.

  • Knowledge of general office processes and procedures.

  • Strong analytical, numerical, organization and time management skills.

  • Interpersonal communication skills sufficient to translate technical information into clear, concise language suitable for a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency and adapt to sudden changes in priorities.

  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Three years of professional experience in related area.  

  • Proficiency in ISRS and/or rSchool Today or demonstrated ability to learn and use customized learning management and client database systems.

  • Previous experience in continuing education and customized training.

  • Knowledge of the State, Minn State College & Universities system and/or Minneapolis College policies and procedures.

Current and/or former employees must be in good standing at Minneapolis College for consideration. Applicants will be asked to provide contact information for four (4) references, including two (2) managers, who can directly address their qualifications for this position.

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)

Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm with an occasional Saturday
