Job Description

3rd Shift Monday - Friday 11:00 P.M. - 7:30 A.M.

Pay Rate: 23.00 - 28.00 per hour. Plus 1.00 shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot production issues by determining whether they are machine-related or process-related and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Monitor and adjust extrusion processes to ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex extrusion and process issues, including material flow and quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Team Leads, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Assist with production qualification runs, process validation, and capability assessments.
  • Set up, start up, and optimize extrusion profiles on all machines within the assigned work cell.
  • Operate and monitor extrusion equipment to safely produce quality products that meet customer and production requirements.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain backup tooling and assist with introducing new tooling into production.
  • Identify and communicate when electrical, mechanical, engineering, or technical support is needed.
  • Train and mentor new and existing operators on equipment, quality standards, and safe work practices.
  • Support the Pay for Skills program by helping train and evaluate associates.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help associates develop their skills.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and Kaizen events.
  • Support company projects and process improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Follow all safety policies and promote a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.
  • Attend required training and development programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with profile extrusion or manufacturing equipment is preferred, but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience operating industrial or manufacturing equipment is a plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and leadership.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and process procedures.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder height and below the waist.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
