About the role

Job Title: Technical Lead – Solution Architect
Clearance Required: Public Trust – Federal Client requires US Citizenship
Work Location: Remote, Arlington, VA

A solution architect is responsible for the design and implementation of technical solutions that meet the needs of an organization. A technical lead is responsible for leading a team of engineers and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Both roles require a high level of technical expertise and experience.

The Candidate shall provide fully staffed, cross-functional Agile Teams that will responsively deliver business value with high quality software. The Contractor shall be responsible for all disciplines within the development lifecycle as defined in the FDIC System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Framework.  The Contractor shall apply the best-practice Agile and DevSecOps methodologies to support the continual improvement of system configuration and custom development. The Contractor shall also contribute to evolving development standards at the FDIC and share lessons learned with other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Managing agile project team in Operations and Maintenance of work stream
  • Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers. Manage continuous improvement projects within the solutions center.
  • Guiding team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
  • Maintaining high standards of software quality within the team.
  • Providing technical leadership through coaching and mentorship.
  • Ensuring smooth functioning of technical operations.
  • Monitoring and evaluating staff progress.
  • Assisting with defining job descriptions and recruitment of replacement resources.
  • Setting goals and ensuring overall client satisfaction.
  • Managing development team, technical approach, and software delivery performance.

Required Qualifications:

Education:            

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field

Experience/Skills:

  • Federal Client requires US Citizenship.
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Five to seven years as a professional technical lead
  • Experience managing and reporting tier three incidents are answered in a timely, efficient, and knowledgeable manner. Provide continuous evaluation of processes and procedures. Contract has stringent and financial based SLA/KPI.
  • Working closely with technical monitor and Product owner in prioritization of tasks
  • Excellent Written and oral communication skills
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer escalations to management and assist in resolving the complex technical support inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with a representative technology is listed below.
    • Application Technologies - MS IIS, WebLogic, Azure, App Service, TomEE. .NET, C#, WPF. WCF, Java, Angular, Crystal, Xceed, Text Control, PDFNet, WPFRibbon
    • Application Database – Oracle, SQL Server, SQL Server Express
  • Understanding of migrating to and supporting applications in an Azure environment.

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $147,000 - $175,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
