Maintenance Mechanic

Thatcher Company of New York, Inc. is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic with industrial experience to work in the Williamson, NY facility. This position will complement an existing maintenance/production team comprised of other skilled and experienced team members.

Major Accountabilities

• High level of competency in maintenance skills and experience (5+ years). 
• Focus on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, air pimps, centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps, chemical processes in regard to preventive maintenance and new construction.
• Experience in plumbing, piping, compressors, forklifts and general maintenance.
• Ability to work safely with strict adherence to established standard operating procedures, safety protocols, OSHA requirements and industry safety practices.
• Ability to work in a variety of physical environmental conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. on a relatively regular basis and meet all other physical requirements of the position.
• History of demonstrated skills and abilities in the utilization of handtools and equipment (JLG, forklifts, etc.) and systems related to industrial plant maintenance.
• Successful history of working in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to own work processes and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated application of general maintenance skills

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with a high level of competency in a general maintenance environment
• Priority will be given to candidates with experience in the following order: Electrical (PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and general control systems), Mechanics (forklift repairs, boilers, water treatment systems), Rotating equipment (pumps and compressors), Piping Fitting (Steel, PVC), Welding,
• Knowledge and competence of basic computer functions (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to understand, interpret and follow technical construction and mechanical drawings and plans.
• Read, write, and understand the English language.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions (verbal and written).
• Prior experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident status.
• Electrical experience is preferred.
