Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Role Summary

The Senior Analyst, Corporate Development & Strategy is a key part of a lean team identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities across the portfolio of businesses included in Comcast’s upcoming spin-off transaction (referred to here as “SpinCo”). The group provides deal support and strategic partnership to the CEO and COO/CFO on all companywide priorities, as well as examining potential acquisition targets and partnering with business leaders across the company in their core business priorities.


Projects will require strategic thinking, research, analysis, modeling, and building recommendations for the full suite of SpinCo leadership. The position offers unique exposure across SpinCo leadership and the opportunity to participate in high-level strategic decision-making / deal support critical both to launching SpinCo as a new company and defining its future.

Responsibilities

  • Support critical activities in closing the spin-off transaction including developing the debt / equity investor story, preparing leadership for the equity roadshow process, and drafting key strategic inputs for the Form 10 and initial 10-K filings
  • Performs financial analyses to evaluate acquisition opportunities and other growth initiatives
  • Conducts research and analysis related to potential M&A activity
  • Prepares comprehensive business plans for new growth initiatives, including new business opportunities or opportunistic enhancements to internal businesses
  • Provides financial and strategic support in evaluating mergers & acquisitions, joint venture partnerships, minority investments and cross-company business development initiatives 
  • Assists CEO, COO/CFO, and Head of Corporate Strategy, Development, and FP&A and business leaders across SpinCo in the development of long-term company strategy
  • Develops comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses, including returns analysis and sensitivities
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS degree with 2+ years professional experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, and/or corporate strategy/business development
  • Solid interest and/or prior experience in media/entertainment industry is strongly preferred
  • Superior quantitative skills, including strong facility with Microsoft Excel, and a sound understanding of finance and financial accounting
  • High degree of professionalism and the ability to interact with senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Experience working effectively both independently as well as part of a team

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
