Transport Maint Crew Chief

TxDOT's Galveston Maintenance Section is seeking a dependable and experienced professional to serve as a Transportation Maintenance Crew Chief to lead a road maintenance crew while overseeing the section's herbicide operations.

In this role, you will:
·    Supervise, train, and coordinate a road maintenance crew performing routine and emergency roadway maintenance.
·    Plan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance activities, including pavement repairs, drainage maintenance, shoulder work, traffic control, and storm response.
·    Manage the section's vegetation control program through the safe, effective, and compliant application of herbicides.
·    Ensure roadways are maintained to provide safe travel conditions and clear visibility for the traveling public.
·    Coordinate daily work assignments, equipment utilization, and material needs while promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.
·    Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with TxDOT standards, policies, and performance expectations.
·    Respond to emergencies and support incident response, weather events, and other maintenance operations as needed.
