Pratt & Whitney's Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) team is looking for a Senior Model-Based System Engineer (MBSE) to contribute to the development and use of Model-Based System Engineering tools for engine applications.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and define system architectures using MBSE techniques.
Develop and maintain system models using industry-standard modeling tools (such as SysML, UML, or similar) to capture system behavior, structure, and interfaces.
Conduct system analysis and simulations to validate and optimize system designs, ensuring compliance with project objectives and customer requirements.
Participate in the identification and resolution of technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Support the integration and testing of system components, and guide system-level behavior and performance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of MBSE processes and practices within the organization.
Travel: 10%
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience OR an Advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience: Model-Based System Engineering experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Active U.S. security clearance.
Experience with software development and programming languages (Modelica, Python) is a plus.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is beneficial.
Solid understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts and methodologies; Proficiency in using MBSE tools and frameworks, such as SysML, UML, Cameo Systems Modeler, or similar.
Experience with system modeling, analysis, and simulation, including requirements traceability and validation.

Department/Segment Overviews: Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) Engineering is responsible for the design, development and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models.
