A Day in the Life

Product DNA is a transformational program across the Medtronic enterprise to simplify the way we create, manage, and utilize product data. The north star vision of Product DNA is to create a foundational connected digital thread of product information. The Product DNA program will improve upon outdated technology and infrastructure through streamlining systems used across the organization, as well as implementing best in class practices and procedures. This change will impact all groups, functions, and regions across Medtronic. This will be a multi–year, multi-phase program.

In this role, you lead the Product DNA program. You will guide the program strategy and program infrastructure, provide functional leadership to the team, and implement best practices across the organization. You will be responsible for the design of the solution and implementation across the Medtronic enterprise with partnership alongside OU and GO&SC leadership. This is a highly visible initiative with impact across all of Medtronic. The role will report directly to Medtronic’s Chief Technology Officer.

• Implement DNA strategy to streamline development, deployment, and program optimization

• Manage and maintain scope, budget, resource allocation, and organizational partnership deployment strategy

• Ensure timely execution of development and deployment schedule

• Effectively manage functional reports and cross-department resources to achieve goals

• Partner across enterprise to ensure effective communication, negotiate development needs, leverage subject matter expertise, and resolve technical issues across OUs and GO&SC

• Align program goals and milestones with dynamic organizational needs

• Prepare and present program updates to leadership and stakeholders

• Maintain relationship with program external partners

• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet schedule, productivity, quality, and focused goals and objectives

• Ensure two-way communication with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems

• Assess and mitigate program risk

• Identify and foster program governance

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 15 years of prior experience in engineering and/or operations, 13 years with a graduate degree.
• 10+ years of leadership experience
• Prior CTL Major program experience
• pDNA experience
• Large Scale EU MDR experience
• PDP experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in medical device or highly regulated industry
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills)
• Leadership through influence in a matrixed organization and ability to work well in a team environment, including cross-functional teams
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and project management tools
• Good balance of high-level strategic and detailed tactical thought processes
• Demonstrated track record of successfully leading projects to completion under tight time constraints
• Ability to strongly advocate for and represent DNA to a cross-functional team related to project and business needs
• Proficient at simplifying and communicating complex business challenges to stakeholders with varying backgrounds and levels of understanding
• Results oriented and able to drive accountability in others
• Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking, project planning, and project management
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness
• Business acumen; ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective
• Experience and/or certification in advanced project management
• Experience with change management techniques and practices
• Experience with digital transformation initiatives or PTC platforms
