Principal I&C Systems Engineer

Role Description:

We are looking to hire an I&C Systems Engineer to help implement systems engineering processes on large Westinghouse projects. The main objective of the systems engineering process is to apply configuration management, requirements management, and verification and validation concepts across multiple systems in a consistent manner, while coordinating and leading technical design creation and changes across multi-discipline groups.

Education:

• BS in Engineering Related Discipline

I&C Systems Engineer

• Strong technical interest, including a desire and willingness to learn.
• Previous knowledge of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems is preferred but not required.
• A basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with various I&C systems preferred.
• Ability to decompose and implement technical and process requirements from contracts, codes and standards, or other project inputs into I&C specific requirements.
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles.
• Basic understanding of configuration management and requirements management concepts
• Basic understanding of verification and validation concepts
• Ability to evaluate analysis inputs and results to develop specific technical solutions for customers.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships by positively addressing customer concerns and issues.
• Ability to work within a team and coordinate external support, as needed, to successfully complete project scope.
• Responsible for coordinating technical discussions between groups and disciplines.
• Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) analyses basis, summary of results, proposed solutions, and implementation instructions to customers and team members.
• Responsible for producing interface specifications between different scopes of equipment.
• Familiarity with the concept of providing cost estimates for project scopes preferred.
• Familiarity with Industry Codes and Standards preferred.
