Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.

About the role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be diving deeper into the software lifecycle, taking on more complex tasks and leading smaller project initiatives. You will not only write code but also be involved in design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring fellow Engineers, helping to maintain the high standards of our organization.

You'll be embedded on a customer team, working on an application used to connect accurate data to key decision-makers in the Department of Defense. This work is exciting and impactful, reaching end users working around the world. Your product is already making waves-- the application takes manual tasks from 65 min to 5 min with integration and automation! We need your help to make it even better!

What we are looking for:

• Deep knowledge of software design and architecture patterns 
  
• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience 
  
• Proficiency with cloud technologies like AWS and Kubernetes 
  
• A strong collaborator who can work well with a diverse team 
  
• 4 years of experience in programming, with proficiency in languages like Java, JavaScript, and/or Python
  
• 2 years of experience w/ DevSecOps tools like Git, Concourse, GitLabCI, SonarQube, Fortify, etc
  
• 2 years of experience w/ frontend like React or Vue
  
• 2 years of experience w/ backend like Spring Boot, Spring, Django, Node.js, etc 
• Bachelors in Computer Science / Engineering / Physics / Mathematics
• Must be able to obtain a Security+ certification within the first 90 days of employment with Raft 

Highly preferred:

• Experience and comfort with Extreme Programming processes like Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming
  
• Experience with container technologies like Kubernetes or Docker
  
• Ability and comfort with mentoring junior engineers 

Clearance Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
