About the Position:

We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Asian American Studies Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator II). The Departments of Asian American Studies is a diverse and growing department that is committed to student engagement and achievement, faculty and staff development and work-life balance, and social justice on campus and in the community. The Coordinator provides lead administrative support to the Asian American Studies Department, the Department Chair, and Faculty. The Asian American Studies Coordinator coordinates and monitors workflows in the office, delegating tasks and adhering to various timelines. Organizes department events and receptions. Monitors class enrollments, accesses student information for advisers, and runs reports and queries. Inputs course schedule information and term workloads, and processes lecturer and graduate assistant contracts. Provides budget support by monitoring and reconciling multiple budget accounts, reconciling procurement cards, and compiling budget reports. Provides lead support and training to office staff and student assistants. Hires and processes student assistants and oversees their work. Tracks staff, faculty, and student assistant attendance and provides coordination for information technology and telephone requests. Serves as the lead Department Information Technology Coordinator (DITC). Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
High School diploma or the equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
