JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for managing, selecting, coaching, developing, and retaining high performance team; overseeing the management of Materials Management in all aspects of Viega LLC; including but not limited to strategic planning, oversee inventory from raw material to finished good, communicating with cross-functional teams, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures and continuously improving Materials Management performance.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Management

  • Directs, manages, selects, trains, motivates, reviews, coaches, develops, and retains a high-performance team
  • Develop organizational strategies, analysis, and recommendations for department; ensure objectives align with organizational objectives; continually evaluate existing processes to determine areas of improvement
  • Builds workforce plan intended for scale in high growth organizational period
  • Conducts timely and accurate employee performance evaluations; address performance issues as needed
  • Develops, implements, maintains, and enforces policies, procedures based on best practices and intra-departmental communications; maintains managerial relationships by encouraging and providing a timely, two-way flow of information between subordinates, management, Viega GmbH counterparts and user groups
  • Motivates staff to improve work performance and provides training and development opportunities as needed
  • Ensures compliance in Health, Environment & Safety/Quality in all areas of operations; ensures company policies and guidelines, as set forth in the Corporate Human Resources Policy manuals are followed; maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Develops and administers the departmental budget; approves and manages expenditures; forecasts short and long-range budgeting needs; ensures expenditures are in alignment with approved budget.
  • Monitors staffing requirements to ensure department is fully always covered; authorizes sick-time, vacation requests, expense reports and ADP activities

Responsibilities

  • Control supply of materials to ensure material availability for production while avoid excess carrying costs
  • Assess variables of demand, price, availability, quantities, and delivery schedules to ensure production is sufficiently supported
  • Defines team priorities as follow up to data analysis and strategy:  forecasting, developing, and maintain accuracy of master production schedule
  • Establish, manage, and report performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of operational performance
  • Create & manage processes & systems to develop insights from data
  • Leverage advanced analytics to improve demand forecasting i.e., collect recent/real-time demand signals and use machine learning to predict demand by analyzing the patterns of those signals
  • Assess demand and supply chain data as basis for decision-making
  • Align expectations of supply venders, manufacturing, and customers

  • Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned

Special Job Dimensions

  • Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; SAP, WMS and MRP
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain processes
  • Knowledge and experience with replenishment tools and applications
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated, working with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department
  • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • BA or BS in logistics, supply chain or related discipline

AND

  • 5 years of experience in material/supply chain management
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing, distribution, and procurement

OR

  • 10 years of related work experience in material/supply chain management
