About the role

As the Corporate Development Senior Director, you will be instrumental in driving ING’s ‘Growing the difference’ strategy. Your role involves close collaboration with senior leadership (MBB and MBB-1) to scout and capitalize on both organic and inorganic growth opportunities that align with ING’s strategic goals. You will lead efforts to execute high-impact transactions and initiatives that enhance shareholder value through synergies, market expansion, and operational efficiencies. A key part of your role will be to evaluate and manage risks associated with these opportunities to ensure sustainable growth. Additionally, you will oversee the integration of acquired entities and the implementation of organic growth strategies, ensuring they deliver maximum value and meet strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with MBB and MBB-1 to support ING’s ‘Growing the difference’ strategy.

  • Identify and pursue both organic and inorganic opportunities that align with ING’s strategic vision.

  • Execute transactions and initiatives that create value for shareholders through synergies, market expansion, and operational efficiencies.

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with potential transactions and organic growth initiatives.

  • Ensure seamless integration of acquired entities and successful implementation of organic growth strategies.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners, investors, and industry experts.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive long-term growth.

Expected Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's long-term goals.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques, and financial analysis.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing complex projects, including due diligence, integration, and post-merger activities.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate potential opportunities and risks.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas and influence stakeholders.

  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
