An Architectural Senior Project Architect QA/QC Spec Writer, with 10 years or more of experience is a highly skilled and experienced professional who takes on a leadership role in architectural projects. The Senior Project Architect QA/QC Spec Writer has attained licensure. This level of PA may work on mid-size to large projects or may work on more than one project at a time. The projects are more complex in nature, and a variety of construction types and occupancies.
Role:
Lead Quality Processes: Implement and manage QA/QC processes for architectural projects to ensure high-quality design and execution.
Document Review: Review construction documents for adherence to standards, constructability, and code compliance, identifying errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and opportunities for value-added design.
Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams throughout the project phases.
Code Analysis: Research and apply building codes (CBC/IBC) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Specification Development: Develop and improve architectural specifications, including specialized content for different project types and regional conditions.
Staff Education: Educate staff on codes, drawing conventions, architectural detailing, construction practices, and innovative technologies relevant to design and delivery.
Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure quality standards are met.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records, prepare reports, and document findings related to quality control inspections and non-conformances.
Project Closeout: Conduct final inspections and compile documentation for project handover.
Manage needed updates to office drawing and specification templates on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
Experience: Relevant experience in architectural practice, often with a focus on QA/QC. Including the following project types: Commercial, Mixed-Use, Governmental, Multi-Family Residential, High-Rise and Podium.
Licensure: An architectural license in the relevant jurisdiction may be required.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of architectural design, building systems, construction methods, materials, and constructability.
Code Expertise: Advanced knowledge of building codes and regulations.
QA/QC Process Expertise: Advanced knowledge of QA/QC processes and procedures. Bluebeam Revu advanced skills.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Deltek Specpoint skills preferable.
