Postdoctoral Research Associate in Physical Activity Promotion (PH 324)

Description

Dr. David M. Williams, Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences, and his team are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (100% FTE for at least 2 years) interested in investigating intervention strategies and psychosocial determinants of physical activity behavior among adults. The postdoctoral research associate will work with a team of investigators on two NIH-funded RCTs testing different exercise prescriptions and monetary incentive approaches among the general population of adults.

Responsibilities include a) assisting with the recruitment of participants; b) running participant orientation, randomization, and assessment sessions; c) drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications; d) submitting and presenting abstracts at scientific meetings; and, e) overseeing data documentation.

The commitment for the position is 2 years, with a possible third year depending on continuation of grant funding. Quality of research and scholarship is central to reaching our goals and this depends on engaging researchers from across academia and embracing their contributions in a fully inclusive community. Qualifications

Position Requirements: PhD, ScD, or DrPH in behavioral and social sciences, psychology, exercise science, or a related field. The successful candidate will have a) methodological training in randomized trials and behavioral interventions; b) skill and experience with participant interviews; c) content knowledge in physical activity promotion; d) peer reviewed publications; e) strong writing skills; and (f) dependability and attention-to-detail.

Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Including a competitive full-time benefits package.
