Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Staff Development Specialist I for the Kiley Developmental Center located in Waukegan, Illinois to serve as training instructor. Develops, prepares, implements, and documents orientation and training for managerial, supervisory, administrative, professional, direct care and support staff. Utilizing computers, accesses information, collects, summarizes, and enters data to generate training records and reports statistical data. Confers with management staff in developing and administering in-services for individuals served.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as training instructor for Kiley Developmental Center.
  • Assists in the development of training curricula (including Competency-Based Task Analysis-CBTAs), materials, strategies, and programs.
  • Develops training schedules, including the coordination, organization, and scheduling of instructors.
  • Utilizing computers, accesses information, collects, summarizes, and enters data to generate training records and reports statistical data.
  • Confers with management staff in developing and administering in-services for individuals served, family/guardians, friends and community agencies.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
