Catalent’s Greenville, N.C. facility specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. This state-of-the-art facility has had over $100M of investments in recent years and features fit-for-scale capacity with potent handling capabilities, ideal for orphan or targeted drug development.

The Facilities Maintenance Intern is responsible for supporting the Facilities Maintenance Team under direct supervision while gaining hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing facility maintenance. This internship provides practical learning
opportunities in maintaining plant equipment, building systems, and manufacturing support equipment while ensuring
compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards and safety regulations.

Shifts: 20-28 hours/week.

This position is 100% on-site at the Greenville site.

The Role

  • Assist with preventive maintenance on motors, lighting, panels, and utility systems under supervision.

  • Learn and apply OSHA, NEC, and GMP standards, including lockout/tagout and arc flash safety.

  • Support documentation of maintenance activities in BMRAM (CMMS) and assist with data entry.

  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to understand electrical priorities and workflows and respond to basic service requests and assist with electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Assist with installations, upgrades, and energy efficiency projects (e.g., LED retrofits).

  • Support emergency systems maintenance, including lighting and backup power checks and participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives

  • Learn BMS monitoring and facility control system basics and support electrical system changeovers and facility power distribution tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Candidate

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Currently enrolled in Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Advanced Manufacturing/Automation Technology or equivalent discipline. (minimum 1 semester completed)

  • Must be located within 50 miles of Greenville, North Carolina site to be considered.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.

  • Majority of workday performed while standing, walking, and performing physical tasks.

  • Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

  • Requires ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb with supervision.

  • Must be able to safely use electrical testing equipment and facilities maintenance tools under supervision.

  • Ability to work in electrical environments including electrical rooms, mechanical spaces, and building utility areas with appropriate safety precautions.
