Job Summary:
The AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown & Hyatt Place Phoenix/Downtown is looking for extraordinary person to join its sales team! The Area Executive Meeting Manager for this hotel role is accountable for soliciting, selling, organizing, and finalizing all arrangements for meetings, conventions, and social functions for hotel sales clients. This role also assists the Food & Beverage teams in the execution of banquets/catering events and coordinates any client needs for a successful banquet.
This position requires active participation in the direct sales effort and is responsible for all activities including solicitation and servicing of catering business for the hotel. The AEMM, Area Executive Meeting Manager; must be comfortable prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing.
What You Will Accomplish
• Actively prospect, qualify, sell and service meetings and event business
• Prepare proposals, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate to obtaining potential business
• Service events including, managing room blocks, BEO's and Group Resumes when necessary to ensure proper execution.
• Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients
• Understand market competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, etc. and know how to sell against them
• Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel
• Must be able to engage customers, analyzes their needs, and create compelling proposals
• Negotiate and close opportunities while achieving sales targets
• Respond to incoming leads in a timely manner
• Achieve and exceed revenue quota on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Effectively communicates internally and externally through various methods and across all departments
• Attend daily business review and weekly sales meeting
What You Will Bring
• Minimum of two years industry experience in hotel sales and catering
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, experience with Marriott and/or Hyatt systems is highly preferred
• Must possess a winning attitude and have a passion for sales and catering
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form
• Must be able to perform major life activities: Standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating
• Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds and lift and/or carry 30 pounds
• Flexible schedule: must be able to work evenings, some weekends and holidays
• Must be able to have a valid drivers license to drive between the two properties

• Solid knowledge of sales principles, techniques, industry practices, and prospecting activities common to the hospitality industry
• Ability to identify, target new accounts, and sell concepts and ideas to customers, management and peers
• Food and Beverage knowledge
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and computer
• Ability to create and deliver professional, quality presentations in front of groups
• Effective time management and organization skills
