Job Summary:
Manufacturing Operations Interns can expect to learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment. They develop manufacturing administrative skills, an understanding of manufacturing (cost, quality, safety and schedule), and Raytheon systems and tools. Operations interns build technical depth in manufacturing processes and are accountable for process improvement and optimization.
This role is onsite at our Fort Bliss, TX (El Paso) facility.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
- Improve cycle time and lead time
- Implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
- Create and oversee improvement projects
- Translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
- Perform hardware defect analysis
- Participate in corrective action investigations
- Gain exposure to various engineering tools and processes
Qualifications You Must Have:
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore, year by the start of summer 2025. Candidates must be pursuing a major in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
- The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
Qualifications We Value:
- Experience/education with technical writing
- Experience/education with interpretation of technical documentation
- Experience with project execution
- ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
Location:
- Fort Bliss, TX (El Paso)
- Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
