Days (United States of America)Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clinical instruction to students enrolled in the Medical Imaging program.
Essential Job Functions
Participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the purpose, philosophy, objectives, and organizational framework of the educational program(s).
Plans and provides clinical instruction that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the educational program(s).
Provides academic advising, guidance, and support of students.
Utilizes innovative teaching strategies and information technologies to facilitate student learning.
Evaluates student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
Maintains clinical competency in practice area.
Teaches, conducts learning assessments, and evaluation strategies in educational and curricular theory. Teaches up to 45 workload credits per academic year.
Supervises all students and ensure School policies are adhered to; notify Dean when appropriate. Evaluate performance of Medical Imaging student in clinical setting.
Runs appropriate reports to ensure medical imaging students are progressing with the clinical educational requirements of the program. Effectively communicates with students when clinical educational requirements are not met. Run appropriate reports in relation to program effectiveness plan. Provides support to clinical affiliates as needed.
Ensures appropriate collection and accurate calculations of program effectiveness plan to include assessment/outcome data in accordance with accreditation standards.
Functions as a Radiologic Technologist when working with students in the clinical environment: a) Positions and handles patients with a high degree of safety and professionalism. b) Controls a variety of complex equipment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. c) Provides protection in accordance with prescribes safety standards; sets up and adjusts radiation protective shielding and special screening for maximum protection in accordance with appropriate report of National Council on Radiation Protection, relating to medical uses of ionizing radiation and appropriate state laws. d) Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors, which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment. e) Follows established image processing procedures and techniques. f) Directs and practices sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination of disease. g) Safeguards private medical information in the record; does not discuss medical information contained in the record with unauthorized personnel.
Demonstrates ability to operate multiple computing systems to include, but not limited to, Microsoft office, Online Learning Management System, Nexus, ConnectCare, PACS, and Smart Board technology.
Communicates and interacts well within a team environment with peers and Healthcare professional colleagues.
Serves as a Radiation Safety Officer for the School.

Licensing/Certification
Registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (required)
Registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in an advanced modality (CT, MRI, Mammography) (preferred)
Education
Associates degree in Radiation Sciences or Radiography (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Sciences, Radiography, or related field (preferred)
Work Experience
3 years of full-time professional experience in diagnostic radiography (required)
Documentation of completion of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in Radiologic Technology
Teaching experience (preferred)
