The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services  team: 

 

Brief Description of Department

The Enterprise Services (ES) Controllership Organization is seeking a detail-oriented and enterprising professional to join our General Accounting Team. The ES Controllership organization is tasked with safeguarding the assets managed by the Enterprise Services group, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404. What You Will do:

  • Preparation and review of General Ledger entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Balance Sheet and Bank Account Reconciliations (Domestic and International)
  • Data analysis and corrective actions
  • Provide support for PwC, DCAA, and Internal Audits as needed which could include assisting with the Annual AP Accrual Study, AP Tranche and Incurred Cost Proposal schedules
  • Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making processes, including monthly flux analysis and quarterly preparation and presentation of flux explanations for the Significant Judgments and Events (SJE) Memo and Trial Balance Review (TBR).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects with exposure to Corporate Treasury, Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Accounting, Business Accounting, SAP Competency Center
  • Perform other tasks as needed which may include intercompany billing to the heritage UTC ledger and/or month-end reconciliations associated with that activity.
  • Gain experience in various ES areas such as Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, Payroll, Timekeeping, Tax, Global Disbursements, Orders to Cash
  • Implement at least 2 documented process improvements annually

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • This role typically requires a Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience preparing  and reviewing General Ledger entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards to include balance sheet and bank account reconciliations (Domestic and International)
  • Analytical, problem identification, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • At least 1 year experience and proficiency with accounting software such as  SAP, or Blackline  as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
