Senior Data Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Interact and collaborate with the customer’s technical POC for data transport and ingest requirements.
• Facilitate data onboarding through the defined and approved process.
• Receive and triage data ingest requests.
• Provide quality assurance (QA) of data ingest requests and validate ingress, transport, conditioning and egress requirements. Validate data metadata, classification and access controls.
• Architect high-level same and cross-domain data ingest data flows from source to destination.
• Collaborate with Mission Partner and ISSE / ISSM teams to facilitate the security assessments of system-to-system interconnects.
• Collaborate with transport and ETL teams to triage, transport and condition one-time and recurring production data feeds.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; minimum 10 years in lieu of degree.
• Demonstrable knowledge of customer’s data lifecycle.
• Demonstrable understanding of metadata, classification and access controls.
• Experience with customer’s A&A process
• Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to function in a customer-facing role.

Desired

• Understanding of ingest, transport and storage of large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Understanding of access controls and tools used to implement access controls.
• Understanding of customer’s data governance policies and tools implementing that policy.
• Experience with accreditation processes, developing required artifacts, coordinating with sponsor infosec, implementing security requirements and remediations.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
