The Clinical Pharmacist – Infusion Center oversees daily pharmacy operations at the Bath Infusion Center, serving as the operational lead pharmacist while collaborating closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians and Bath Clinic care teams. Although the pharmacist is the only pharmacist onsite at Bath, they maintain strong collaboration with regional pharmacists at Stow, Green and Akron General Hospital Physician Office Building. This day-shift role is Monday through Friday with minimal holiday requirements and offers high autonomy, including responsibility for ensuring medication availability for scheduled patients, verifying technician-prepared medications and maintaining compliance, safety and documentation standards.

A caregiver in this position works a hybrid regional schedule, Monday  
through Friday 7:30pm to 4:00pm with 4 weekend per year required to be stationed at Akron General. Holiday requirements are once per year.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services 
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations 
  • Document services in a complete, accurate, and timely manner 
  • Actively contributes to medication safety initiatives 
  • Utilize available technology proficiently and to the full extent, in their area of practice 
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards 
  • Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences 
  • Direct staff to provide safe and efficient care 
  • Maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers 
  • Promote a positive work environment by providing constructive ideas and feedback to improve services and the department 
  • Educate and trains students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients 
  • Provide cost-effective care 
  • Accountable for drug use policy adherence 
  • Utilize time and resources effectively 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy. 
  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience. 
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire. 
  • For individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.   
  • For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross or willing to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
